Miles had been busy the last couple of days working on the walls of Adora's side of the room. Painting from memory he put up a mural of Adora's Friends which looked nice even though he spent half his time keeping a certain lion cub roommate from eating his feet.

When it was done he made arrangements to ensure that Adora was fed and walked as well as making sure all valuables were out of reach of a certain lion's paws.

And then it was to Portalocity and home. It felt good to be back in Brooklyn and he spent the entire afternoon helping his mom prepare for tomorrow's meals and chatted with his dad about school. Or at least a more believable version of school.

And then after of a half hour of pleading, his father let him out of the house to go see his "friends".

Which was true. But just not the friends his parents thought. Putting on his uniform, Miles made his way over to Queens (Stopping a purse snatcher on the way. Ms. Barton-Pryde would be proud.) and a certain house he had visited before.

The house had been repaired since he last visited. And there was even Christmas lights and decorations up which somewhat surprised Miles. He rang the doorbell and held his breath a bit, not exactly sure what the response would be.

The door opened and May Parker looked down at Miles and smiled. "Miles! Come in!"

"Hi Ms. Parker. I hope you don't mind me dropping by. I just wanted to see you and see how you were doing."

"Such a sweet boy," she said patting his shoulder. "Why don't you come in? There's some friends of yours that I'm sure would be happy to see you."

"Friends?" Miles asked, looking confused. "But I-"

He turned the corner into the kitchen to see two familiar faces sitting at the table. Both of them turned and smiled. "Miles!"

Miles blinked. "Peter? Gwen?"

He barely got the words out before he was tackled hugged by the two people he had never counted on seeing again. "How did you get here?"

"Well, you know," Peter B. Parker said giving Miles a noogie on the head. "Things are going well at home with Mary Jane but I thought a quick dimension hop courtesy of the Fantastic Four for the holidays would be a nice thing. You know?"

"Fantastic who?"

"Same here," Gwen said, as she finally released Miles from her rib cracking hug. "Except Dr. Strange owed me a favor."

"Doctor what?"

"So how's it going kid?" Peter B. asked as he took Miles' coat. "Still at that wacky school of yours?"

"Oh, man. You thought what we went through was weird?" Miles said laughing. "Let me tell you about what happened last week."

It took a while to get caught up. Stories were told of adventures and personal lives and looking over at May Parker, Miles caught a warm smile as she worked on the holiday meal.

It was then that Miles' felt truly relieved. The last few weeks all he could think of was Ms. Parker being alone on the holiday and without family.

But looking around he could see that wasn't the case. And while it wasn't a replacement for the loss she had experienced, it was at least a found family that Miles knew she could relate to.

Returning home (Just a minute before curfew), Miles went into his bedroom and spent the rest of the evening wrapping gifts for his family for the next day.
